The Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) is the industry association representing the global wind sector. GWEC works with governments, system operators, regulators, multilateral institutions, and industry leaders to accelerate wind deployment as a core pillar of the future electricity system.
A central focus of GWEC’s work is the integration of wind into modern power grids , including transmission and distribution planning, power system flexibility, market design, digitalisation, and cross-border interconnection. GWEC engages closely with grid operators, utilities, equipment suppliers, policymakers, and financiers to address system-level challenges and enable large-scale decarbonisation.
