Backend Developer (PHP) - Payments / FinTech

We’re recruiting on behalf of a fast-growing European FinTech that provides crypto purchase/sale and payments rails for both end users and businesses. They’re looking for a Senior Backend Developer (PHP) to help scale core backend services where correctness, security, and performance matter.

• Write modern PHP (8.3+) using strict types, typed properties, and PSR standards
• Build and maintain high-performance APIs , background jobs, and database-driven features
• Review pull requests: catch bugs, enforce standards, and suggest better patterns
• Identify opportunities to improve code quality, architecture, and performance
• Optimise PostgreSQL queries , API responses, and background jobs for speed and efficiency

• 5+ years of professional PHP experience
