Assistant Specifications Writer

BASIC FUNCTION

To lead a specifications team in thorough selection of materials suitability on various projects considering the firm’s criteria of choosing materials.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Pre-Design Phase

• Assists in coordinating with various material suppliers for scheduling and facilitation of product presentation in the office.
• Requests material samples or swatches and material quotations from the suppliers.
• Attends periodic client meetings as requested for full engagement and assessment of project information with supervision from the Immediate Supervisor.

Schematic Phase

• Provides assistance to design team/s in determining material selection and its appropriateness in the project through product research and sourcing.
