About the Role

As an applied physicist, you will support the design, integration, and commissioning of front‑end electronics systems across LHCb subdetectors (VELO, RICH, CALO) for the LHCb Upgrade II project, targeting demanding timing requirements. Your work will combine hands‑on technical development – system integration, calibration, and module R&D – with harmonising timing approaches across subdetectors, working closely with CERN Electronics and Detectors Technology support groups, and the LHCb Online team.

Functions

  • Support system‑level integration and commissioning of the electronics chain, working with subdetector experts and the LHCb Online team.
  • Develop control software and calibration procedures for detectors in the LHCb electronic control system.
  • Provide project‑based support for PCB development, mechanical/cooling integration, and electronics infrastructure (LV, HV).
  • Coordinate across LHCb subdetectors (VELO, RICH, CALO) to harm...
