Cookie Policy — How CorrectRecruitment.com Uses Cookies

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, how CorrectRecruitment.com uses them, what choices you have about their use, and how to manage your preferences. We are committed to full transparency about our data practices and to respecting your privacy rights under applicable law.

Version: 3.2
Last Updated: 1 January 2025
Applies To: CorrectRecruitment.com and all Expertini network sites
Regulation: GDPR · UK GDPR · CCPA · ePrivacy

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, to provide a better user experience, and to give operators information about how their sites are used.

Cookies are not programs and cannot carry viruses or malware. They cannot access other information on your device, execute code, or install software. They are simply data files that websites use to remember information about your visit and preferences.

In addition to cookies, we may also use similar tracking technologies including:

  • Web beacons (pixel tags): Tiny invisible images embedded in web pages or emails that register when a page or email has been viewed
  • Local storage: Data stored directly in your browser that persists after a session ends, similar to cookies but with higher capacity
  • Session storage: Data stored temporarily for the duration of your browser session only, automatically deleted when you close the tab
  • Device fingerprinting: Technical characteristics of your device used to recognise returning visitors in contexts where cookies are unavailable or have been cleared

Legal basis: Under the EU ePrivacy Directive and UK PECR, we are required to obtain your consent before placing non-essential cookies on your device. Essential cookies that are strictly necessary for the website to function do not require consent but must be disclosed. This policy fulfils our transparency obligations under these regulations.

2. Types of Cookies We Use

We use four categories of cookies on CorrectRecruitment.com. You have full control over all categories except Essential cookies, which are required for the platform to operate.

🔒

Essential Cookies

Always Active

Strictly necessary for the website to function. They enable session management, security, login authentication, and CSRF protection. These cannot be disabled through our cookie settings as disabling them would prevent the platform from working.

  • User authentication and login sessions
  • Security tokens (CSRF protection)
  • Load balancing and server session routing
  • Cookie consent preference storage
  • Application form state preservation
📊

Analytics Cookies

Optional

Help us understand how visitors interact with the platform — which pages are most visited, where users drop off in application flows, and how features are used. All data is aggregated and anonymised. Used solely to improve the platform experience for all users.

  • Page view and session tracking (Google Analytics)
  • User journey and conversion path analysis
  • Feature engagement and performance metrics
  • Error tracking and technical diagnostics
  • A/B testing and feature experiment assignment
⚙️

Functional Cookies

Optional

Enable enhanced functionality and personalisation — remembering your preferences, search settings, and platform customisation choices. If disabled, some personalisation features will not work between sessions, but core platform functionality is unaffected.

  • Language and regional preference settings
  • Saved search filters and job type preferences
  • Recently viewed jobs and search history
  • Dashboard layout and display settings
  • Notification and communication preferences
📢

Marketing Cookies

Optional

Used to deliver relevant advertising and measure campaign effectiveness. May be set by us or third-party advertising partners. If declined, you will still see advertising but it will be less relevant to your interests and browsing behaviour on our platform.

  • Remarketing and retargeting (Google Ads, LinkedIn)
  • Conversion tracking for paid advertising
  • Interest-based advertising personalisation
  • Social media sharing and engagement pixels
  • Campaign attribution and source measurement

4. Third-Party Cookies

In addition to cookies set directly by CorrectRecruitment.com, certain third-party services we use may set their own cookies when you interact with our platform. These third parties have their own privacy policies governing their data use — we do not control their cookies or the data they collect.

Analytics — Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics (provided by Google LLC, USA) to understand how visitors use our platform. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect aggregated, anonymised information. Data is processed in the US under Standard Contractual Clauses. IP anonymisation is enabled — your full IP address is never stored. You can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-On. Google Privacy Policy →

Payment Processing — Stripe

Stripe (Stripe, Inc., USA) processes all employer subscription payments. Stripe sets cookies for fraud prevention, payment flow continuity, and security. We never store payment card details on our systems — all payment data is handled exclusively by Stripe, which is PCI DSS Level 1 certified. Stripe Privacy Policy →

Authentication — Google OAuth

If you choose "Sign in with Google" for your account, Google sets authentication cookies to manage that session. This is optional — you can always register with email and password instead. Google Privacy Policy →

Infrastructure & Security — Cloudflare

Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., USA) provides our CDN, DDoS protection, and performance services. Cloudflare sets technical cookies for routing, bot detection, and security purposes. These are classified as Essential as they protect both the platform and its users. Cloudflare Privacy Policy →

Advertising Networks

Where we run paid advertising campaigns, advertising network partners (Google, Meta, LinkedIn) may set marketing cookies on our platform to measure campaign performance and enable remarketing. These are only active if you have consented to Marketing cookies. Each partner's privacy policy governs their data use.

Cross-border transfers: Several of our third-party providers process data in the United States. Where this occurs, transfers are governed by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission, or equivalent mechanisms providing an adequate level of protection for your personal data.

5. Your Cookie Choices

You have full control over optional cookies on CorrectRecruitment.com. Your preferences are stored for 12 months and can be updated at any time without affecting your ability to use the platform.

Open Cookie Preference Centre
Enable or disable each optional cookie category independently. Changes take effect immediately. Your essential cookies remain active regardless of your choices.

Manage Cookie Settings

What each choice means in practice

  • Accept all: All four categories active. Full personalised experience, analytics help us improve the platform, and advertising may be tailored to your browsing.
  • Essential only: Only cookies required for the platform to operate are placed. Preferences, search history, and recently viewed jobs will not persist between sessions. No analytics or advertising cookies are placed.
  • Custom selection: Independently enable or disable Analytics, Functional, and Marketing cookies. Essential cookies always remain active.
  • Withdraw consent: Return to Cookie Settings at any time to withdraw previously given consent. Withdrawal is effective immediately for future placement; it does not retroactively remove cookies already placed before withdrawal.

No penalty for declining: Declining optional cookies does not affect your access to any core feature of CorrectRecruitment.com. You can search jobs, apply, manage your account, and use all candidate or employer tools regardless of your cookie choices.

6. Your Data Protection Rights

Under the GDPR, UK GDPR, and other applicable data protection legislation, you have the following rights in relation to personal data collected through our use of cookies and similar technologies.

📋

Right of Access

Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, including data collected via cookies where it is linked to an identifiable individual. We respond within 30 days.

✏️

Right to Rectification

Request correction of any inaccurate personal data we hold. Preference and profile data can typically be corrected directly from within your account settings.

🗑️

Right to Erasure

Request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten"). Clearing cookies in your browser removes locally stored data immediately. Account deletion removes server-side data within 30 days.

⏸️

Right to Restrict Processing

Request that we limit how we process your personal data in certain circumstances — for example, while a complaint is being investigated.

📤

Right to Data Portability

Receive your personal data in a structured, machine-readable format. For account data, this is available via the Data Export function in your account settings.

🚫

Right to Object

Object to processing of your personal data for direct marketing purposes at any time. You can also object to processing based on legitimate interests where your interests override ours.

To exercise any of these rights, submit a request via your account settings under Privacy → Data Rights, or contact our Data Protection contact using the details in Section 11. We respond to all requests within 30 days as required by law. Where requests are complex or numerous, we may extend this by a further 60 days with notification.

If you are in the European Economic Area or UK and are unsatisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. In the UK this is the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). In Ireland it is the Data Protection Commission (DPC).

California residents (CCPA): If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete personal information, the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your CCPA rights, contact us using the details in Section 11.

7. Managing Cookies in Your Browser

In addition to our Cookie Preference Centre, you can control cookies directly through your browser settings. Most modern browsers allow you to view, block, or delete cookies. Note that blocking all cookies — including essential ones — may prevent some features of CorrectRecruitment.com from working correctly.

Opt Out of Interest-Based Advertising

You can opt out of interest-based advertising from many third-party advertising networks through the following industry opt-out tools. These opt-outs set an opt-out cookie in your browser — if you clear your cookies, you may need to opt out again.

8. Do Not Track

Some browsers include a "Do Not Track" (DNT) feature that sends a signal to websites requesting that your browsing not be tracked. There is currently no universally agreed-upon standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals, and most browsers and websites do not have a consistent, interoperable DNT implementation.

At present, CorrectRecruitment.com does not alter its data collection or use practices in response to DNT browser signals. We consider our Cookie Preference Centre — which gives you direct, granular control over each category of tracking — to be a more effective and transparent mechanism than the DNT signal for managing your privacy preferences on our platform.

We will review this position if an industry standard for DNT emerges and achieves broad adoption. Users in the EU and UK can rely on their rights under GDPR and our Cookie Preference Centre as more robust mechanisms for controlling data collection.

9. Children's Privacy

CorrectRecruitment.com is intended solely for use by individuals who are 16 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 16 through our cookies or other data collection practices.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child under 16 has provided personal data to us through use of this platform, please contact us immediately using the details in Section 11. We will promptly delete any such data upon verified notification.

In countries where the applicable age of digital consent differs from 16 (such as 13 in the United States under COPPA), we comply with the highest applicable standard for our platform's target markets.

10. Changes to This Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use, changes in the services we provide, updates to applicable law, or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons.

When we make changes to this policy, we will:

  • Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page
  • Post a notice on the platform for material changes
  • Where required by law, seek fresh consent for any new categories of cookies added
  • Send an email notification to registered users for significant changes that affect their previously given consent

We encourage you to review this Cookie Policy periodically to stay informed about how we use cookies. Your continued use of the platform after any changes to this policy constitutes your acknowledgement of the updated terms. Where changes require new consent, we will present the updated consent notice before any new cookies are placed.

Previous versions of this Cookie Policy are available on request by contacting us using the details in Section 11.
